Who is John Bell?

Pharos Games was fortunate enough to find a great voice actor to portray many of the animal legends as well as the Cherokee speaking parts in Cherokee Trails.

The multi-talented John Bell (shown here with wife Jean) has had a long career in the radio broadcast industry. John's projects are many and varied. From dialects to cartoon characters, John can do them all! For serious scenes, John's deep, resonating voice evokes emotional response. But in the wink of an eye, he can switch to comedy, where he really shines.

John's company Clear Channel Radio won best of show in the 2001-2002 Addy awards in Mobile, Alabama. John wrote, produced and voiced the award-winning commercial for Diamond's Gentlemen's Club. John also received the award for best copywriter, and received a Gold Addy for another spot he wrote and produced (voiced by John and Mary Booth).

A radio comedy script by John Bell and Becky Beach won first prize in an annual script competition held by the Friends of Old Time Radio. This hilarious production was a spoof of the famous H.G. Wells "War of the Worlds" radio drama performed originally by Orson Welles.

As his stage personality Professor Zounds, John Bell entertains children and grown-ups alike with a show called "Stump the Sound Effects Man." He was even featured on the national television show America's Funniest People in 1992. John Bell is quickly becoming a familiar voice in PC games as well. In The Mystery of the Mummy, he played the parts of both Sherlock Holmes and Watson. In Acalius, Enemies of the Wild John plays the part of Eric Renfield.

In Cherokee Trails, John portrayed the Wolf, the old hunter, the Cherokee reader, Cherokee hunter, and the Eagle. At Pharos Games, we hope to work with the amazing John Bell in our future games, as we couldn't hope to find a more versatile, creative voice artist!
